Most do. Really! Nearly 99% of all supplements contain ground up rocks (inorganic Rock mineral salts) or industrially processed synthetics including those labeled natural and food based.  How can you tell which supplements are real food and which are not? Read the label on your supplements. Here are some of the most common non-food isolates to watch out for:

  • Ascorbic acid
  • Calcium carbonate
  • Chromium picolinate
  • Cyanocobalamin
  • Folic acid
  • Magnesium oxide
  • Niacin
  • Pantothenic acid
  • Thiamin HCL (or thiamin hydrochloride) Thiamin mononitrate
  • Pyridoxine hydrochloride
  • Vitamin A acetate
  • Vitamin E acetate
  • Zinc oxide

This isn’t a complete list but it’s a start. If you’re interested you can find more with a little research. The fact is, even most food-based supplements are USP vitamins (United States Pharmacopoeia) created in the laboratory and inorganic rock mineral salts mixed with some food. So, basically, food mixed with mineral salts or other synthetics.

Food Research Supplements are 100% food. No ground up rocks or industrially processed synthetics. No pesticides or herbicides. No GMOs. No artificial binders or fillers.  All products are 100% natural and/or organic whole foods.
