diversityHow diverse is your diet? The truth is that every plant like every person has unique properties. If you diversify, the range of nutrients can help fuel your body, and may help you live longer and healthier. On the flip side, research also suggests that eating the same food over and over increases your risk of food intolerances or allergies.

How about a bit of experimentation? Try some vegetables and fruits that are not normally on your radar.

For instance, if you eat spinach, why not expand your horizons and try kale?! It’s considered one of the most nutrient-dense vegetables on the planet. Are you a salad lover? Switch your iceberg lettuce to romaine. It’s rich in vitamins A and K and loaded with fiber (arugula and endive are also good choices!).

Have a sweet tooth? Add some fruit to the equation like fresh pineapple, known to be rich in vitamin C, manganese, beta carotene, fiber, and the digestive enzyme bromelain.

You get the idea. Different foods for different healthy benefits! And be sure to be selective by choosing fresh organic vegetables and fruit whenever possible (check out the dirty dozen and the clean 15 lists to find out what’s safe and what’s not).

Diversify your grocery list and, if you can't find something at the store, explore your choices with all-natural real food supplements! Discover the dozens of diverse all-natural real food formulas from Food Research here.
